'The Colour Blue' by Sophia Connell-Lengerman
The Colour Blue by Sophia Connell-Lengerman is an invitation to reflect on blue as both a colour and a feeling.
Through the lens of a poem, a collection of photos, and loose sketches, blueness shapeshifts. In all its glory it spans across the sky and forms the foundation of rock faces. It elicits emotions and combines with reds and yellows to make soft earthy browns.
Blue acts as a co-author throughout, drawing attention to themes of land sovereignty, our connection to place through land, and the way in which nature does not pay heed to borderlines.
The contemplative curation of works is an ode to the natural world, that we are very much part of. To its healing abilities and our responsibility to all that it encompasses.
