About Woods Street Arts Space
Woods Street Arts Space is a place for creativity and community. Find out more below, explore our current programs and events, or drop in to visit us during opening hours.
History
In 2012, Council took the lease of the former post office in the Lohse and Woods shopping precinct in Laverton.
Vacated in 2010, the building offered a unique opportunity to create a multi-use and flexible creative space that could be activated by the local community.
Building on principals of urban renewal and community engagement, Woods Street Arts Space has since hosted thousands of programs including art exhibitions, creative workshops, residencies and events.
The program
Woods Street Arts Space presents two six-monthly programs each year that explore creativity, the environment, multiculturalism and community.
From art, dance and theatre to design, music and more — programs at Woods Street Arts Space celebrate all that we love about Laverton.
