Hobsons Bay and Wyndham City Councils are seeking creatives from the western regions of Melbourne to participate in Hobsons Bay + Wyndham City’s Wunder Gym Melbourne Fringe Festival Program.

Wunder Gym provides artists and creative practitioners an opportunity to develop skills and techniques with the guidance of an established artist mentor.

Now in its third year, this unique community art program is designed to encourage and support individuals in their artistic practice, connect them with broader support networks and assist in developing new audiences for their work.

Expressions of interest (EOIs) open at 9am on Tuesday 11 June and close at 3pm on Wednesday 10 July.

2024 Program

Together with the guidance of mentor Yandell Walton, participants will explore how art and food bring us together, physically, spiritually, and emotionally.

Participants will respond to a project brief that is aligned with Melbourne Fringe Festival’s program theme. Through workshops and shared resources, participants will create new work for a multi-venue exhibition during Melbourne Fringe Festival (1 – 20 October 2024).

Participation is free and participants are expected to commit to the program in its entirety.
