2022 Woods Street Youth Art Prize
The 2022 Woods Street Youth Art Prize showcased 45 artworks created by young people aged 14 to 25 years of age from the western regions of Melbourne.
Displaying a wide range of mediums from paintings to video installation, the biennial art prize enables young people to showcase their creative talents and build confidence in exhibiting their work and a professional creative network.
2022 Prize winners:
- Open Category - Yesterday's Dream (self-portrait) by John Mathet ($1000)
- Runner up Open Category - Spring by Sophia ($500)
- Hobsons Bay Artist - Giving by Mish Winters ($500)
- Artist Encouragement Award (under 20) - This is a girl character that I just drew by Alannah (Lani) Aranyi ($200)
- Artist Encouragement Award (over 20) - Fatherland by Parminder Kaur ($200)
- People’s Choice Award - A Vibrant Roar by Chaitanya Jain ($400)

2020 Woods Street Youth Art Prize
Award winners for the 2020 Woods Street Youth Art Prize were announced in an online awards ceremony on Thursday 26 November. Presented by the Hobsons Bay Young Citizen of the Year, Augustin Kadende, the livestreamed event celebrated the achievements of all shortlisted artists in the 2020 exhibition.
2020 Prize winners:
- Open Category- Danger, Danger, Danger, Danger, Danger by Chelsea Hickman ($600)
- Runner-up Open Category - Integrity IV by Anni Hagberg ($400)
- Hobsons Bay Artist Award - Cool Dogs and 2 Minute Noodles by Krystyna Katsouri ($400)
- People’s Choice Award - Park Jimin portrait by Rachael Castelino ($400)
- Artist Encouragement Award (under 20) - A New Power - Finding A Voice by Sophia ($200)
- Artist Encouragement Award (over 20) - Identity Crisis by Kate Lewis ($200)
