Millennium Time Capsule Exhibit

To celebrate the unearthing and opening of the millennium time capsules, a special event on January 26 at Central Square in Altona Meadows will feature time capsule displays, live music and family activities.

Background: 

Almost 25 years ago, around 12,000 children and 1,000 adults from Hobsons Bay municipality contributed messages about their lives to a massive time capsule buried at Truganina Park in Altona Meadows to mark the millennium. 

The Millennium Time Capsule project was the result of a collaboration between Altona City Rotary Club, Altona City Rotaract Club (Rotarians 18-30) and Hobsons Bay City Council. 

These historic time capsules were unearthed in December and will be opened in January. The contents will feature in an exhibition at the Civic Centre in Altona later in 2025
