Get ready to unearth your wordplay creativity & tune into the rhythms of your inner poetic VOICE! Gather with First Nations performer & spoken-word poet, MpathSoul, as they share their creative journey & ignite your creative fire within. Collaborating alongside MpathSoul you'll get to jam ideas & craft spoken wordplay in a nurturing, safe & supportive space. You are welcome to bring your own poetry to enrich your experience in the session.

This special NAIDOC week workshop is for all Young People who are curious about or want to grow their creative writing or performance skills. We'll supply the snacks & resources - you supply the ideas & creativity!

MpathSoul, aka Monica Jasmine Karo, is a Gunai & Gunditjmara multi-disciplinary artist. Over the past decade, Monica has captivated audiences across Australia as a singer-songwriter, actor, and spoken-word poet, earning a nomination for the Music Victoria Archie Roach Foundation Emerging Artist award in 2022. Her performances, including as lead artist in Ilbijerri Theatre's acclaimed production "Heart is a Wasteland," showcase her soulful folk music and poignant spoken-word pieces, addressing themes of protest, healing, and connection.

This NAIDOC Week workshop embodies & celebrates 2024 theme "Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud & Proud."
