Ever wanted to make your own holiday gifts? Making your own can save you money, allows you to upcycle materials and stop them going to landfill, and show a loved one how much you care. In this session we'll be learning how to make bottle carriers to gift (or keep for yourself!)

Some prior sewing machine experience is desirable, but this session is possible for quick learners.

Participants will:

  • learn the skills needed to safely operate an electric sewing machine including the basic controls and how to adjust them to get the best sewing result.
  • become familiar with the instruction manual and accessories that come with a machine and understand their uses and applications.
  • learn simple trouble shooting skills as well as best practice sewing machine, home maintenance.
  • learn a variety of techniques including, straight stitching, zigzag stitching and hand sewing.

There are two types of tickets you can book - one where you require a machine, and one where you will bring your own machine.

Please note:

  • This session is for ages 14+. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. If the adult would also like to participate they must book a ticket.
  • If you are booking a BYO sewing machine ticket, your sewing machine must be in good working order and recently serviced. Our facilitator will not have time during the workshop to fix machines.
