Join us for an unforgettable night under the stars this Science Week!

Hobsons Bay Libraries are partnering with the Astronomical Society of Victoria to bring you an exciting night of stargazing at Truganina Explosives Reserve.

Guided by experts, you'll discover the wonders of the night sky, and learn top tips for celestial navigation using the naked eye and a telescope. We’ll even have some warm drinks and marshmallows to keep you nice and toasty.

This event is perfect for new stargazers aged 10 to 100+, for each attendant under 18 they must be accompanied by an adult.

Please note that this event may be cancelled due to poor weather conditions, ensure you register with appropriate details so we can contact you if this is the case.

BOOKINGS

Important information: Star gazing is undertaken in low light environments, please be aware we will operate in a dark space, with reduced lighting. Please bring along your own red-light torches. We will have red cellophane available to adapt standard white torches on the night. We ask that participants wear appropriate outdoor winter clothing to stay warm/dry.
