Hobsons Bay Live Streaming Privacy and Disclaimer
All Council meetings are streamed live to provide the community with greater access to Council debate and the decision-making process. Council meetings are filmed, recorded and published in accordance with section 17 of the Hobsons Bay Governance Rules.
If Council resolves to close the meeting (in whole or in part) to the public in accordance with Section 66 (2) of the Local Government Act 2020, live streaming will cease (and be switched off) to protect the confidential status of the matters being debated and resolved by Council.
All live streamed recordings are the property of the Hobsons Bay City Council and are subject to copyright under the Copyright Act 1968. All rights reserved. No part of live streamed recordings may be reused, reproduced, distributed or transmitted in any form or by any means, including photocopying, recording, or other electronic or mechanical methods, without the prior written permission of Hobsons Bay City Council. Privacy Collection Statement
All Council meetings are recorded and live streamed via a link on Council’s website. This link is also promoted to the community ahead of each Council meeting via social media. Recordings of the livestream are made publicly available on Council’s website within 48 hours of the meeting. Sections of the meeting that are closed in accordance with Section 66 (2) of the Local Government Act 2020 are not included in the recording available to the public. The meeting recordings will be retained on Council’s website for two years.
Every care is taken to maintain privacy and the cameras filming and recording the meeting are focussed on the Mayor and Councillors. Any person who walks behind or in front of a Councillor’s seat may be incidentally filmed and recorded in the footage. Comments made by members of the public from the gallery may also be live streamed and recorded and publicly available on the retained meeting footage.
