Fearon Reserve box lacrosse court renewal

In the 2024-25 capital works budget, Hobsons Bay City Council allocated funding to upgrade and renew the box lacrosse training court at Fearon Reserve, Williamstown.

The existing facility is home to the Williamstown Lacrosse Club and Williamstown Women's Lacrosse Club, and is pivotal to the development of the sport within Hobsons Bay. The project will include upgrades to the fencing on the training court to prevent balls from escaping the court, upgrades to the drainage infrastructure, as well as renewal of the playing surface and flood lighting.

The works will bring the court up to current standards and help support growing interest and participation in the sport.

Construction is expected to begin in early 2025 with a three-month construction period. The existing pavilion and surrounding sports facilities will remain in operation during this time, with portions of the site fenced-off for construction of the court. There may be short disruptions to services, traffic, access and parking in the vicinity during the period of works.
