Altona Parking Management Strategy - Feedback

Overview

Last year, Council introduced the Altona Parking Management Strategy to address parking challenges at Altona Beach and surrounding local streets, particularly during the summer months. Key changes included the introduction of parking meters and adjustments to parking time limits to ensure parking availability for beach visitors, and to reduce congestion on local streets.

What we aimed to achieve

  • Improve parking availability near Altona Beach.
  • Address parking and access issues in nearby residential streets during the summer peak period.

Community consultation: What we heard

During the initial consultation, the community provided valuable feedback. Based on this feedback, several changes were made:

  • Extended parking time limits on residential streets from one hour to two hour parking.
  • Seasonal parking restrictions to apply only during the summer peak (November-March).
  • Expansion of affected areas in the residential streets to accommodate the changes.

We want to hear from you again as we continue to assess the effectiveness of the Altona Parking Management Strategy. Your feedback will help us understand what aspects of the parking strategy are working well andwhat aspects may need further adjustments.

Please take a few moments to complete the questionnaire and share your thoughts. The questionnaire closes 16 September 2024. Hard copies are available at Council reception.
