Council’s traffic engineering unit assesses traffic and parking conditions on the municipality’s roads to ensure continued safety for motorists, cyclists, pedestrians and all road users. This includes assessing parking restrictions, speed limits, traffic signs, pedestrian crossing points, vehicle movement and traffic flow. The unit is also responsible for implementation of traffic treatments such as speed humps, roundabouts and splitter islands on Council roads.
Council works alongside VicRoads to improve the efficiency and safety of the whole road network.
