Hobsons Bay 360 #78: Helping you clear your clutter

All Hobsons Bay properties who use Council waste and recycling services can book one free hard waste collection each financial year (1 July to 30 June). This is a great way owners can keep their properties tidy and clear of clutter that can build up. A second collection can also be booked for a fee.

How much hard waste have we collected?

From April 2023 to March 2024 Council has conducted over 10,000 hard waste collections. That’s over 1,400 tonnes of landfill, green waste, e-waste and steel and 2,193 mattresses!=

How to dispose of e-waste

E-waste is any items that has an electric cord or needs a battery to operate. Council encourages safe disposal of small e-waste items via the Recycling Made Easy cabinets located at all library and community centres across the municipality. Find you closest locations here. Additionally, there are a number of e-waste drop-off days run by Council, find out more here or subscribe to our Living Green newsletter here for details on when the next E-waste Drop Off Day will be held.
