Centres of Excellence

Big (and excellent!) things are underway in Hobsons Bay!  Our Centres of Excellence network is evolving with the refurbishment of Altona North Community Library. The theme for this Centre will be Video Games and Board Games. The Centres of Excellence will be delivered in addition to the current core library services, so we will not be removing books.

The six sites in the network will aim to make services and learning opportunities more accessible to more people. Each centre has a unique theme where our community can deep dive into the topic through curated programs, activities, specialist equipment and collections.

The first Centre of Excellence was officially opened on Saturday 21 October with an amazing community event. Mayor Tony Briffa, Deputy Mayor Diana Grima and Point Cook MP Mat Hilakari opened this new hub for science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics technologies, specialist collections and programming.
