Thursday 1 June to Thursday 31 August

The Warm Winter Read is a Public Libraries Victoria (PLV) campaign for adult readers (aged 16 and above). Through public libraries across Victoria, we are encouraging adult readers to develop long-lasting reading habits by tracking the days they read during Winter. As the temperature drops, it's the perfect time to snuggle up with a book and make time for yourself.

REGISTER FOR WARM WINTER READ

How to join the challenge

1. Sign up via Warm Winter Read website

Sign up here. Be sure to select Hobsons Bay Libraries as your primary library when you create your account.

2. Log your reading

Log any reading that you do even if it's only 5 minutes, every minute counts! You will also be able to log a book you are reading, including start date, pages completed and finish date (if you would like). Books, eBooks and audiobooks all count in the competition.

3. Challenges

As you move through the challenge period, tick off 6 challenge activities. Note: these are no compulsory but are an added little extra motivation for the high achievers (and they are fun!).

This year's challenges are:

  • Create a cosy reading spot
  • New beginnings - start a new series OR read the next book in a series
  • Outdoor adventures - get out and about with an audiobook
  • Literary pair or share - get creative in the kitchen
  • Discover worlds - read a title that transports your mind
  • Recommend or review a title - from the bookmarks or something new!
