Ada Ackerly
The author has spent many years in historical research in original records, particularly early Port Phillip and Williamstown, more recently the topical WW1, particularly the "home front".
Life in, and connection to, Hobsons Bay
Most of the author's life has been as a resident in Hobson's Bay, for many years as a kindergarten, primary and "English as a second language" teacher. She looked after the local Williamstown Historical Museum in Electra Street 1980-1991 and again 2011-2015.
