Helene Richards is a freelance writer, editor and publisher. First published at the age of ten (in the Police News), she has since co-authored two non-fiction books – Bullying in the Workplace: An Occupational Hazard (HarperCollins 2002, 2nd edition HR Publications 2010) and Money Management for Women (UNSW Press, 1999). Her short stories, poetry and articles have been published in professional journals, anthologies, newspapers and magazines, and she has won or been placed in various writing competitions.

Helene tutors in various aspects of creative writing and is a founding member of the Williamstown Writers’ Group. She has three adult children and two grandchildren, and lives in Williamstown with her husband Colin.

Life in, and connection to, Hobsons Bay

I have lived in Williamstown for 38 years, having married a third-generation Williamstonian. I have been a volunteer tutor in creative writing with the Hobsons Bay U3A for the past eleven years, served on the Williamstown Literary Festival Committee for many years and am a founding member of the Williamstown Writers group.
