Trees for Schools Program
Trees for Schools program 2025
Receive up to 50 trees to plant in your school! Let’s make our city and your school a cooler and greener place to be.
This program is being delivered in 2025 as a partnership between Greater Western Water (GWW), the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) and local councils through the More Trees for a Cooler Greener West program and Greening the West (GTW).
About the program
All primary and secondary schools within Hobsons Bay are eligible to express their interest to receive up to 50 native tube stock (seedlings) to plant within their school grounds. Trees will be available to plant during the cooler months of the year which is the best time of year for new plants to establish. It is highly desirable to get students involved, and National Tree Day in July is a great event to be involved in. Educational materials, developed in collaboration with Environment Education Victoria (EEV), will be available on GWW’s website to incorporate education into student planting activities.
