Spotswood

Toast and Honey Spotswood

Visit Spotswood and wander around the quaint village immortalised in the eponymous 1992 film.  Spotswood, now a thriving suburb with loads on offer, is just 7km from the city and nestled between bustling Williamstown and Yarraville.

Visit Hudsons road and enjoy a spot of shopping as you work up an appetite.  From chic fashion to hand painted planters and botanical wares, the shops of Spotswood are sure to delight.

Spotswood has quickly developed into a foodie’s haven with Grazeland opening alongside it’s well-established cafés and restaurants.  Queues are a regular occurrence to get into several of Hudsons road’s hot spots so multiple visits may be required to work your way through all this suburb has to offer.

Spend some time between meals enjoying a local beverage in the rain or shine at one of the many local venues featuring outdoor beer gardens and cozy indoor spaces.

In addition to it’s gastronomy, Spotswood has a rich industrial history dating back to the 1840’s. If you are interested in learning more about the area the Spotswood Industrial Heritage Walk is not to be missed.  Download the Museum Victoria Tours app and be guided past the factories, warehouses, homes and shops that make up the suburb.

Scienceworks and the Melbourne Planetarium are located next door to Grazeland and bursting with things to challenge curious minds of all ages.  Let your kids wander through immersive exhibitions before lunch or catch a full dome film screening after dark.
