Creative Exchange Lab: Canva for Creatives with Muhib Nabulsi

Are you trying to build an online following to your creative practice? Advertise an event you’re organising? Launch your publication? Something else?

Whatever you’re trying to do on social media, for better or worse, branding will play a crucial role in the online (and likely IRL) success of your project. Graphic design is foundational to digital branding.

There was a time when graphic design software was restricted to expensive, professional programs that required hundreds of hours of YouTube tutorials or formal qualifications to master. Over the last decade, Canva has changed that.

In this workshop run by writer, filmmaker and communications professional, Muhib Nabulsiis, you will learn how to use Canva for your creative practice, project, or anything else. We’ll cover Canva’s basic functions, how to best use them, and what they can be used for, as well as Canva’s limitations and further learning resources.

Participants will be asked what they want to use Canva for and the workshop will be tailored accordingly, where possible.

Towards the end of the workshop, we’ll implement what we’ve learned by creating a mock Canva project.

*If you have access to a laptop, please bring it to this workshop. Don’t worry if you don’t; a laptop is not necessary to attend and participate.
