The Williamstown Historical Society started their collection of historical objects, paintings, photographs and documents in the 1950s, to preserve a physical record of the history of Williamstown, Spotswood and Newport. As the original port of Melbourne, Williamstown has played an important part in Melbourne's history and development. Most of these items would have been lost forever without the protection of the Society. This exhibition will display various items to allow visitors the chance to learn about our unique history and the valuable preservation work being done by the Williamstown Historical Society.
