Dive into Te Whare Pohewa—The House of Creation! Join our vibrant wānanga, where you'll master the art of crafting your own traditional Māori kākahu. Unleash your creativity and embrace ancient weaving techniques, culminating in a stunning, handmade garment. Transform raw materials into wearable art!  

This series of private workshops is open to the Māori community, teaching how to weave Traditional Cloaks. The cost of the workshops covers all weaving materials cordage, natural feathers, books and stationery, and a trip to Melbourne Museum’s archives to see ancestral traditional woven garments from pre-colonial times. 

Cost: $700 per term; payment plans available via themaoricreative@gmail.com
