Gender Equity Policy Statement

At the 13 May 2014 Ordinary Council meeting, Council adopted its first Gender Equity Policy Statement. The policy statement is inclusive of women, men and gender diverse people and hopes that through applying a gender analysis to the social determinants of health in Hobsons Bay Council is able to understand the differences experienced by women, men and gender diverse people, and meet the needs of the community.

The vision of the policy statement is:

“Hobsons Bay City Council is committed to a safe and just community, where every girl, boy, women, man and gender diverse person is included and valued – where equal and respectful relationships and opportunities for meaningful participation are supported and celebrated.”
